is no one going to talk about the fact that this is a really, really painfully obvious manip?? Point one: the background is Sherlock Holmes. Chris Evans had nothing whatsoever to do with the movie, and I’m fairly certain he wasn’t at the premiere in 2009, but hey, feel free to tell me otherwise. Point two: the op even says in their tags that it’s a manip. Point three:
okay seriously??? The person you chose to edit out was Robert’s wife?? Was that really necessary? I never understood these kinds of manips when it involves real people in the real world not characters because then it’s just like “I’m going to take a picture of these two people and edit one of them out for the sake of my fictional OTP.” Like, aren’t there enough photo shoots with Robert and Chris as is? You know, real photos? Oh hey, I don’t care about how sweet Robert is with his wife, needs more gay subtext for a different fandom for a show/series that Robert also happens to be in. Or hey, this picture of Andrew Scott being adorable with Ben Wishaw when they’re doing theatre together totally needs Benedict Cumberbatch’s face edited on instead. Let’s pretend their real life relationship is different than what it really is or fabricate them being together at this place and time. Then even if you do tag it as a manip, it always winds up that a whole lot of people don’t realize it is one, and that annoys me. Occasionally it’s a pretty clever manip, and I’ve fallen for them before, but this isn’t even very subtle. I could tell right away that it was off.
